A. Yes, but please see the next question.

Q. Wait a minute, I have Windows 7 and HeLPS crashes. What should I do?

A. Some versions of Windows 7 may cause HeLPS to crash when attempting to play video or audio files. If this happens, please use the following workaround:

1. From the Windows Menu (Start Menu) navigate to the HeLPS folder and right click on the HeLPS program icon and select "Properties." This will open a new window with multiple tabs.

2. Select the "Compatibilty" tab.

3. At the top of the Compatibilty tab, check the box named "Run this program in compatibilty mode for:" and select "Windows XP (Service Pack 3)."

4. Click Apply and then click OK.

5. Run HeLPS and verify that it is running correctly.

Q. When I try to run HeLPS, I’m told that I require an “Indeo Video Codec” and I’m sent to www.ligos.com to purchase it.

A.  The Indeo Video Codec that is required is available from Intel as a free download by clicking here.

Simply click on ‘Download Codec Installer [CODINSTL.EXE]’ and save it to your computer. Double click on the file, and install the codec..

Q. I am having trouble, or am not able to import 44.1kHz wave files into HeLPS.

A. There is a HeLPS Import Patch available on the downloads page that rectifies this problem. This patch is recommended for all users of HeLPS version 1.0.
